What Is an Arcana Number in the Destiny Matrix?
An Arcana number is a value from 1 to 22 associated with a Major Arcana card. Your birth date is used to calculate several Arcana numbers and place them at specific points in the Destiny Matrix. The number gives the theme. The position gives the context.
The chart position
The center, outer points, and lines represent different parts of the chart. The same Arcana can appear more than once. Its card theme stays the same, but each position gives it a different context.
The complete chart
A Destiny Matrix contains several calculated Arcana numbers. Together, they show how themes appear across the center, outer points, Love Line, and Money Line. No single number represents the whole chart.
Unlike a tarot birth-card calculator, this tool does not reduce your birth date to one universal card or draw a card at random. It calculates several Arcana numbers and places them in a Destiny Matrix chart.
Reading guide
Read Your Destiny Matrix Chart from the Center
Start with your central Arcana. Then read the other numbers by chart position. If an Arcana appears more than once, compare the positions. Use each result as a prompt for reflection, not a prediction.
Test each interpretation against your own experience. Look for one example that fits and one that does not. Keep what helps you reflect.
Start with your central Arcana
Read it as the main theme at the center of your chart. Note its strengths and challenges. Ask, ‘Where have I seen this pattern in a real choice?’ If it does not fit your experience, do not force it.
Compare another chart position
Next, select an outer point or line. Read the Arcana theme in that area of the chart. A number on the Love Line relates to relationships. A number on the Money Line relates to work and resources. These positions do not predict outcomes.
Compare repeated Arcana
When the same Arcana appears more than once, compare its positions. The card theme stays the same, but the question changes with the context. Repetition does not make a prediction stronger.

The Destiny Matrix Arcana Formula, Step by Step
This calculator uses your birth day, birth month, and the digits of your birth year to create the main chart points. Every total is reduced to a value from 1 to 22. Follow the example below, or calculate your chart and open ‘Show calculation’ on any result.
After calculating your chart, open ‘Show calculation’ on any result to check its inputs and steps. The arithmetic can be verified separately from the card interpretation.
Calculate the three birth-date points
The day gives the left point. If the day is above 22, add its digits. The month gives the top point. Add the four digits of the birth year to find the right point, then reduce the total if needed.
Calculate the bottom point
Add the left, top, and right points. Apply the 1–22 rule to the total. The result is the bottom point.
Calculate the central Arcana
Add the left, top, right, and bottom points. Apply the 1–22 rule. The result is the central Arcana shown first in your chart.
Build the remaining chart
The other points and lines are calculated from existing chart points. Each new total uses the same 1–22 rule. Select any result and open ‘Show calculation’ to check the exact inputs.
Example: 17 May 1993
- Birth-date points
- Left: 17 · Top: 5 · Right: 1 + 9 + 9 + 3 = 22
- Bottom point
- 17 + 5 + 22 = 44 → 8
- Central Arcana
- 17 + 5 + 22 + 8 = 52 → 7
This date produces Arcana 8 at the bottom point and Arcana 7 at the center. Both are correct because they belong to different chart positions.
Method differences
Why Do Arcana Calculators Give Different Numbers?
Two calculators can use the same birth date and still return different numbers. Before comparing results, check the date entered, the type of calculator, the chart position, and the reduction rule.
Check My CalculationWas the same birth date entered?
Check the full date and its order. For example, 04/07 can mean April 7 or 4 July. When comparing sites, write the month as a word.
Is it the same type of calculator?
Tarot birth-card, Life Path, and Destiny Matrix calculators use different formulas. This page calculates a Destiny Matrix chart with several positions.
Is it the same chart position?
In the example above, Arcana 8 is the bottom point and Arcana 7 is the center. Both are correct. Compare center with center, Love Line with Love Line, and Money Line with Money Line.
Is it the same reduction rule?
This calculator keeps values from 1 to 22 and adds the digits of larger totals. Here, 28 becomes 10. Some calculators subtract 22, so 28 becomes 6. Others reduce to one digit. These methods produce different numbers.
If the number matches but the card name does not, check the deck numbering. This chart uses 8 = Justice, 11 = Strength, and 22 = The Fool.
